Meet the Artist
My daughter, our cat, and I decided to move to Germany in 2025 to escape the United States politics and live in a more accepting place. Since then, we had worked hard to save enough to comfortably move to Halle and open my own shop where I hope to become a valuable member of my community here. My name is Kai Otonashi and I am a trans tattoo artist. I began tattooing in 2006 after a 3 year apprenticeship in Bloomington, Indiana, in the United States. I've moved around a lot and worked as a guest artist for many shops including Skinquake, External Design, Maverick's Tattoos, and Little Blues Tattoo's. In 2014, I was diagnosed with a mild form of MS that affects my right leg nerves and occasionally my hands. Because of this, I had been unable to work scheduled hours under an employer and began working as a freelance artist since 2017. This allowed me to schedule my clients around my "good days", because nobody wants a tattoo artist that isn't working at 100%! Every year, I renew my bloodborne pathogens & hygiene certifications, I apply to all health code regulations and have a large variety of REACH compliant inks.
